Social Referrals

Referrals are one of the best ways to bring in-market customers to your dealership. DealerRater makes it easier for your dealership to advertise your referral bonus to existing customers and encourage them to share a link to your employee’s profiles with their social networks.

Locate the Referrals widget

  1. Log in to the Dealer Panel with an account with administrative access for your dealership.

  2. Next, access your Referral Setup by clicking on Profile -> Dealer Info.

  3. Locate the Referral widget below your dealership's hours and click "Edit."

Referrals

With the widget open, you can enter a specific referral bonus that your dealership offers. If your dealership does not offer a referral bonus, you can select the “No Referral Bonus” option if you don’t provide a monetary reward.

When does a customer refer me?

Whenever a customer leaves a positive review for your dealership, they’ll be asked if they’d like to refer one of the employees tagged in the review. We will display the referral bonus you inputted in the Dealer Panel. It will look like the screenshot above.

Facebook Referral

Your customers will have the ability to refer a salesperson via Facebook or email. The use case for email is if they know of a specific person who’s also in the market for a vehicle and would like to notify them directly with a link to the employee's profile page on DealerRater. The real value of this feature, however, is the social aspect. By allowing customers to post about your employees on their Facebook wall, we’re spreading awareness and visibility into your DealerRater pages to their entire network and anyone who shares their posts. 

Additionally, people can refer any of your employees directly from their Employee Profile Page on DealerRater. If your employees can be selected in leads, a "Refer Me" button will automatically appear below their profile photo. No setup is needed!

The person clicking the button will have the same Facebook and Email options outlined above. 

Reporting

Whenever someone clicks through to the employee profile on DealerRater from a Facebook post or email referral, we’ll keep track of not only that new customer, but also the previous customer who submitted the referral post (or email). So, if the new user happens to submit a lead for your dealership on DealerRater, we will capture this lead as a referral and log it in the Dealer Panel under your Leads & Connections.

When a referral lead is submitted, you can see this on the lead details page under the “Referred By” section.

DealerRater for Dealers Mobile App

Your employees also can share the URL to their employee profile page directly from the DealerRater for Dealers mobile app. Within the app, they can click the "Share profile on Facebook" button to share their profile on Facebook. This will generate a post, similar to the one pictured above, that can be shared among their network, and anyone who clicks on your DealerRater profile through that page will be captured as a referral. In this case, the lead will be attributed to the employee who originally posted the link to their page.
